Peachtree Charter Middle School Preps for New School Year

A few rising 8th graders at  a recent gathering
Good news for PCMS students - the new track should be complete for the start of the school year.  The recent rains have caused some slight delays, but hopefully it will be ready for the first CV Monday of the year.

In addition to the track students can expect to see improvements to the long jump and high jump areas.  Unfortunately funding does not include replacing the infield turf.  Perhaps next summer we'll see more improvements.

One way to help with the outdoor facilities at Peachtree (Dunwoody's only public middle school) is to participate in the CV Classic, a 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run.  The date has been set as October 5th, 2013 for the Peachtree Fall Festival and the CV Classic run so mark your calendars now.

If you or your company is interested in being a race sponsor now is the time.  There are spots remaining on the race T-shirt.  Email for more information on sponsorship.

The Peachtree Charter Middle School Parent Teacher Council met recently to work on plans for the new school year and for registration/open house days.  Keep an eye open and visit Dunwoody School Daze blog and the PCMS web site later this summer for dates.

Registration: Rising 6th graders August 1st
Orientation: Rising  6th graders August 2nd
Registration: Rising 7th and 8th graders  August 7th
School starts August 12th

New for the 2013-14 school year will be a new Junior Achievement (JA) for 6th graders, improved wireless Internet coverage, and a new reading program.  Estimates call for approximately 1450 students to enroll.
