Dunwoody Officials, Chamber, Welcome New Business

The city is on a roll of late with new businesses popping up.  Businesses = jobs and tax revenue.

In addition to Tin Lizzy's and Marlow's (two fine establishments) and a bunch of other places, the economy is not stagnant here in Dunwoody.  This week's Crier has more info.

Mayor and some Council members join U-Haul CEO in ribbon cutting

In an effort to win over Dunwoody residents skeptical of a truck/trailer rental center in the heart of Dunwoody (intersection of Mt Vernon Road and Main Street), U-HAUL has added The Farmhouse to its catchy 'Venture Across America' truck graphic catalog.

It's rumored by Chamber insiders that there's more to come!.  Word on the street is a new Ryder truck rental location is headed to a neighboring lot. Dunwoody's Economic Director had no comment but seemed pleased at the recent influx of new businesses.  "Yogurt shops, hamburger joints, truck & trailer rental centers. Things are looking great around here.  It all adds up."

In other Dunwoody Village news, a structural engineering class from GA Tech stopped by to examine the world's sturdiest drive-thru roof at a local garment-cleaning facility. (see photo below) "It's quite remarkable", said student Ajala Patel.  "It's as if Frank Lloyd Wright himself built this unique lean-to.  To have this in the metro Atlanta area is awesome."

Truck was dirty and person that checked me in didn't give me instructions for putting the stickers on damaged areas, he said he didn't have time to show me how to do them and walked off, then got mad and fused at me for using too many. He also owns the car wash but I won't go back not even for that.

When he answered the phone he said hello. I had no idea if I was calling the correct number. I had to ask him if it was Uhaul. He could not look up my reservation and told me he would call me back to confirm. I told him I had to go to work so please leave me a voicemail. He said "If I don't call you back just call me back." I had my sister call for me and he told her he did not have my reservation. I took a break from work to call him and he said he had my reservation...very confusing.

Train this guy. It shouldn't take 45 minutes to pick up a trailer. And when I was a few minutes late returning it dude was all to proud to tell me he was charging me for a second day. He made me wait 15 minutes while he finished detailing a car, and shook his head when I pulled in to return the trailer. Worst uhaul experience ever. I'll never go to that place again.
