Yet another sign that Dunwoodians are eager to continue dining out in the community (and down some beers while at it), Marlow's Tavern plans to open a Dunwoody location. Dunwoody will be the 9th location in metro Atlanta.
The Dunwody location will be on Dunwoody Parkway, in the same building as Calico Corners (near Ace Hardware and Goodyear). They plan to open in May of this year. The opening of Marlow's may thin the crowds a bit at the Dunwoody Tavern, Village Burger, and Mellow Mushroom, and even Taco Mac, but competition is a good thing. Marlow's will be yet another option for those choosing to have others prepare their meals. The Marlow's may keep more diners in the Village area instead of heading down to the Super Target area.
By the looks of the artist's rendering there will be outside dining on a raised patio. Looks like a great place to watch the July 4th parade.
Marlow's also offers live entertainment at its locations, and I expect the same for Dunwoody. And even more good news; Marlow's has Hoegaarden in bottles. I prefer draft like they have at Mellow Mushroom, but bottle is great as well. Did I mention a Sunday Brunch? It will be hard to top sausage gravy over chicken (with biscuit and potatoes) from Hickory House, but I'll give it a try. See their menu here.
I expect Marlow's to be a nice addition to Dunwoody's dining options. They have everything the typical Dunwoody family seeks; beer, a kids' menu, great adult food, live music, and some liquor.
