Officer uses AED To Save Life

On 2/3/11, Officer Dale Laskowski responded to a person down call. The victim had no pulse and was not breathing. Officer Laskowski deployed his AED and it recommended CPR. Officer Laskowski performed CPR until paramedics arrived. The victim has since been released from the hospital. Great job Officer Laskowski!

The text above is from the Dunwoody Police Department Facebook page. Great work by one of our police officers!

I remember back in 2009 when Farmer Bob started a fund-raising project to buy AED units for every Dunwoody Police car.  I don't recall the total amount but I think he successfully raised around $60,000.  Lots of us contributed $10, $25, $50, $100 or more.  City council members chipped in $1500 collectively, DHA put in $7500, and the Dun United Meth. Church added $4500.  Other groups around Dunwoody contributed as well.

He won't take any credit for it, but FarmerBob (his original name is Bob Lundsten, but we came up with 'FarmerBob' when he and I, with Don C, put up the fence at the community garden at Brook Run) deserves lots of credit, as does the officer, and all those who helped make this happen

Next time you see Officer Laskowski or FarmerBob or the paramedics, thank them for all of us.
